Modify existing designs and create new designs for custom solutions\t
Produce mechanical models, drawings and bills of material\t
Design custom, large equipment for marine and energy applications. Designs will involve complex, multiple-component assemblies with tight tolerances for oceanic and subsea applications.\t
Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment and controls using SolidWorks for electric and hydraulic systems\t
Create blueprints of frame weldments, sub-assemblies, and components for manufacturing\t
Interface with sales team and customers to clarify customer requirements; collaborate with production and shop for product completion\t
Comply with standards including ABS-CDS, DNV OS-E101, API 16D, ASME Section VIII BPVC.\t
Work with designers to develop product structural design
Requirements:

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering\t
EIT or PE preferred\t
At least 4 years of experience with machine design/drafting - winch experience is highly preferred\t
Proficiency with Solidworks modeling and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) with ANSYS\t
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and costs for maximizing the effective manufacture of machinery.\t
Ability to perform mechanical engineering calculations related to statics, dynamics, kinematics, and stress and strain through the use of free-body diagrams.\t
Ability to perform torque, RPM, power, and gear ratio calculations and develop and write test procedures for Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)\t
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and customer specifications.\t
General knowledge of electric equipment, PLC and HMI programming a plus.
