Position Summary:
Under minimum supervision performs EEG Procedures as outlined in the Policy and Procedure Manual under direct physician orders and prepares and distributes report of the information obtained. This position treats/cares for patients of all ages. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of the Organization. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support the Organizations strategic plan and the goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
High school graduate including courses in Physical Science
Minimum of six (6) months specialized training in EEG from accredited college vocational school or on-the-job training
Ability to recognize EEG abnormalities and artifacts
Have basic knowledge and background in operating highly sensitive electronic equipment of the performance of EEG and related diagnostic testing procedure as well as an ability to communicate instructions and technical information to physicians and other members of the health care team
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred Qualifications:
Membership in the American Society for EEG Technologists is desirable
Experience in the performance of EEG procedures is desired
