PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Operations Supervisor has overall responsibility for the daily operations of the natural gas pipeline facilities at three compressor facilities and 400 miles of pipeline, including all operational activities, performance management of staff, safety, environmental programs, compliance with company procedures and government regulations, development and management of budgets, employee training and development and overview of administrative functions relevant to the work. Direct reports include 10 Operations Specialist and 2 Equipment & Controls Technician.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide supervisory leadership to crews in assigned geographic area.
- Responsible for safety and environmental programs, compliance with company procedures and government regulations, development and management of budgets, employee training and development and overview of administrative functions relevant to the work
- Responsible for the operation and maintenance of process equipment, instrumentation, pumps, vessels, heat exchangers, pipelines, compressors and auxiliary equipment, engines, turbines, motors, cooling equipment, valves, seals and other related equipment
- Ensure the cost effective and efficient performance of pumps, exchangers, engines and associated equipment at compressor stations and pipelines
- Responsible for installation, repair, service and maintenance of instrumentation, valves, pipe, pipeline appurtenances and associated equipment
- Responsible for oversight of the general upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment, including pipeline right-of-way and gathering or storage areas, including, but not limited to excavating, repairing, coating and backfilling pipelines, concrete work, painting, building erection, weed control, etc.
- Represent the Company during contacts with landowner / tenants, public officials / emergency officials and at local meetings (One Call, Pipeline Groups, Soil Conservation, USFS, etc.)
- Oversee construction and/or maintenance activities performed by third parties
- Train and oversee company and third party personnel as required (i.e., personnel in progression, transport drivers, contractors, visitors
- Perform governmental compliance activities (OSHA, DOT, State Agencies, EPA, USF, etc.)
- Identify, report and correct safety and environmental concerns
- Actively participate in safety programs and initiatives
- Participate in the development of O&M Procedures, Site Specific Procedures, project scopes and work plans
- Complete all applicable documentation and record keeping
- All other duties as assigned
