The Opportunity
Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for procurement and a knack for negotiation? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are seeking a dedicated Procurement Agent to join our dynamic team. This role is integral to our operations, ensuring the smooth running of our domestic and international procurement activities. This permanent position will report to the Procurement Operations Buying Program Manager and duties include but are not limited to the following;
- Collaborate with the Materials Planner to order direct materials, ensuring minimal stock-out occurrences and maximum customer demand adherence.
- Communicate demand forecasts for ingredients to suppliers and work closely with the Category Management team to align orders with the defined strategy.
- Manage orders to ensure fulfillment meets the needs of the production schedule and take proactive action to mitigate or prevent possible supply chain issues.
- Support customer projects and new product commercialization efforts.
- Submit Supplier non-conformance issues to the appropriate supplier contact.
- Coordinate logistics (import & domestic) and support the purchases of indirect material needs.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within Procurement.
- Promote cross-functional process improvements.
? ?The Skills you will bring to the team
- Education and Experience: Bachelor degree or APICs/ISM Certification recommended. Alternatively, relevant experience can take the place of education. Minimum of 1-3 years of business experience is required, which can be substituted with college education.
- Industry Knowledge: Working knowledge of and experience with food or fortification manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Detail-Oriented: The candidate should be highly detailed with a systematic approach, sense of responsibility and positive customer focus.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
- Professionalism: Ability to effectively interact with all levels of personnel with the utmost professionalism.
- Adaptability: Flexibility and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
- Technical Skills: Experience with ERP/MRP systems, preferably SAP, along with strong computer skills and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Strong math skills, and knowledge of the metric system, are also required.
