The Senior Manager, Product Commercialization plays a critical role in launching new products and beverage platforms that will modernize our offerings, attract new consumers, and grow our brand equity. The Senior Manager, Product Commercialization will manage the end-to-end lifecycle of product commercialization, from ideation to launch. This role will be highly cross-functional, partnering with Marketing, Innovation, R&D, Supply Chain, Procurement, Sales, Operations, and Finance.
This role is based in Emeryville, CA at the Peet’s Home Office.
What you will do:
· Independently lead cross-functional project teams in the development and commercialization of products through the Peet’s Stage Gate process, managing and coordinating all aspects of new product introduction and transition activities across functions from initial concept to launch to the hand-off to operations, delivering a satisfactory flow of products to meet customer demands
· Create and troubleshoot project plans that integrate cross-functional activities and dependencies.
· Maintain communication between business leads, internal sponsors, management, and clients
· Lead Stage Gate presentations to facilitate go-forward decisions, partnering with the project team to compile the right information for effective, efficient decision making
· Pre-emptively identify and mitigate project risks
· Lead regularly cadenced project meetings with clear and actionable recaps and status reporting
· Consistently leverage project management best practices (PMP or similar training)
· Proactively identify potential optimizations for the Stage Gate process for continuous improvement
Who you are:
· 5 to 7 years of progressively responsible, “hands on” experience in product development and project management with a minimum of 3 years focused on commercialization; experience at a CPG company a plus
· 4-year degree in Business, Project Management, or similar discipline
· Proven excellence leading and managing project teams in a fast-paced environment
· Ability to navigate competing priorities and ambiguity with ease and with minimal guidance
· Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand business fundamentals and implications of change
· Demonstrated ability to build constructive business relationships and gain the trust of others in a high matrixed, cross-functional environment
· Demonstrated ability to champion change and anticipate, mitigate, and resolve conflicts across workgroups
· Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as influencing and negotiating skills
· Excellent coaching, team building, and group facilitation skills
· Makes complex decisions for touch problems; embraces collaboration and teamwork, as well as a spirt of hospitality with fellow employees and external team members
· PMP or similar training, with expertise in Waterfall and critical path methodology
· Experience with Smartsheet (or similar)
Peet’s Home Office is a Hybrid worksite, which requires any Home Office employees to work onsite (Emeryville, CA) 3 days per week.

The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job.
