Position Overview
As part of our Marketing Experiences Engineering team, you will implement exciting features that engage and influence Autodesk customers. Our team faces a variety of unique and interesting challenges.As a Principal Engineer, you will help enhance user experiences and driving conversion rates across our Autodesk’s digital platforms. You will lead the implementation of strategies to increase user engagement through journeys such as Add to Cart, Trials, Search, and Downloads. You will report to the Engineering Manager responsible for the team you are assigned to.
Location: San Francisco, CA
Responsibilities
Lead a team of our engineers focused on conversion optimization projects within an enterprise-scale environment
Develop and implement data-driven strategies using Adobe Test & Target to improve user engagement and conversion rates
Collaborate with our UX designers, product managers, and marketing teams to analyze A/B tests and multivariate experiments
Oversee the deployment of new features and optimizations using LaunchDarkly, ensuring high quality, scalability, and performance
Integrate and manage content using Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and Contentful
Ensure compliance with enterprise security, performance, and scalability standards in all projects
Contribute to architectural decisions and best practices for frontend and backend development
Collaborate with our global teams, manage projects, and lead enterprise-wide projects
Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in conversion rate optimization (CRO) and digital user experience
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
7+ years of experience in web development, with a focus on user experience and conversion optimization in an enterprise environment
Industry experience in React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Industry Experience with Adobe Test & Target, LaunchDarkly, and Adobe Analytics
Industry Experience with AEM and Contentful for content management
Experience approaching a problem from different angles, analyzing pros and cons of different solutions with experience in data analysis tools
Experience leading technical teams
Experience troubleshooting issues with users

Technical Expertise: Have expertise in web development and conversion optimization, with and to solve complex technical challenges
Leadership and Mentorship: Can direct teams, mentor junior engineers and interns

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $141,400 and $228,800. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
