About the Role
As Senior Director of Strategic Projects you will play a pivotal role in driving Workday’s long-term growth and success. You will be responsible for leading high-priority strategic projects to enable good leadership decision-making and alignment on the most critical opportunities and challenges facing Workday’s business. You will build and lead a high-performing, healthy team of strategic project principals and senior principals to expand Workday’s capacity to address these strategic questions over time. Your role will be instrumental in fostering a culture of collaboration, data-driven problem-solving, creativity, and excellence, ensuring the team's capabilities align with the company's strategic goals.
This is a highly visible role with extensive cross-functional interaction. You will partner closely with functional strategy, business, and operational leaders to identify and drive alignment on Workday’s important strategic opportunities and challenges. This position is ideal for a strategic leader with exceptional problem-solving skills, project management expertise, and a track record of identifying and capturing on new vectors of growth and monetization opportunities within the software industry. As a thought-partner and strategic advisor to Workday’s senior leaders, it’s also critical that you possess exceptional leadership and communication skills and the confidence, resourcefulness, and adaptability to manage stakeholders to advance good, practical strategic decision-making and achieve our desired business outcomes.
About You
Strategic Project Leadership: Proven track record delivering impact via strategic projects. Develop and drive a comprehensive strategic project roadmap aligned with the company's business objectives. Lead cross-functional teams to address the most critical strategic questions facing Workday, via a combination of structured problem-solving, research and analytics, deep understanding of enterprise SaaS and Workday context, and collaborative decision-making. Identify, evaluate, and prioritize new vectors of growth and monetization opportunities within the software industry. Partner with leaders across Workday to ensure seamless integration of strategic decisions into functional and business operations.
People Leadership and Development. Ability to provide visionary leadership to the strategic projects team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration. Mentor and develop team members, cultivating a high-performance environment that encourages continuous learning and professional growth. Lead by example, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment that values diversity and creativity.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Communications. Ability to develop rapport, credibility, and strong relationships across the organization, and to promote ideas and proposals persuasively to build support for company-level decisions. Collaborate with executives, department heads, and key stakeholders to understand business priorities and incorporate them into the strategic project portfolio. Communicate recommendations and risks to senior leadership, ensuring transparency and alignment with overall business goals.

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
