The Opportunity
This position works out of our Sylmar, CA location in the CRM division.
As a global leader in Cardiac Rhythm Technologies, we focus on innovative technologies that can improve the way doctors treat people with heart arrhythmias, or irregular heartbeats.
The Sr. Software Test Engineer leads design and development of software code, unit tests, and integration tests for a feature of a subsystem.
Leads medium sized or multiple medium-projects.
What You’ll Work On
- Leads and is accountable for the engineering design and implementation for one or more software features in the System.
- Serves as the technical subject matter expert for one or more features, identifying process issues and recommending corrective measures.
- Reviews testing strategy and test protocols for one or more features. Implements hardware/interface simulation for one or more features.
- Analyzes user needs, product requirements, software requirements and provides input to System Engineer and other stakeholders. Assesses areas impacted by new feature requests and determines approach to accommodate new capabilities.
- Provides effort estimates for software testing. Plans, conducts, and technically directs subsystems of significant projects. Assesses areas impacted by new feature requests and determine approach to accommodate new capabilities.
- Develops High Level Test Strategy and Test Design for software application, which includes testing of components and interactions between components.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- Minimum 6 years of work experience software tester or software design/development.
- Experience in Class II or III Medical Devices
- Experience with verification tests, designs and writing automated tests
- Advanced knowledge in C# or Java
- Demonstrated success in technical proficiency, creativity, and independent thought. Excellent verbal written communication skills.
- Ability to develop & design at the component-level.
- Strong analytical & problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Linux
- Experience with Windows Workstation
- Experience with ClearQ uest and Jira
