Responsibilities: | The Mannes School of Music (College) at the College of Performing Arts seeks highly motivated students to serve as College Piano Accompanist, Senior Student Assistant Specialist. We are looking for organized, responsible, and collaborative individuals to support instruction and performances at the Mannes School of Music. This position reports to the Performance and Ensemble Manager at the Mannes School of Music. This is an ideal position for students who are interested in a career as a pianist.
This position is open to student applicants with Federal Work Study awards, as well as student applicants without a Federal Work Study award.

- Beginning in the Fall 2024 semester, we will be auditioning pianists who are interested in joining the Approved Accompanist List. (If you are already listed on the Approved Accompanist List, you do not need to audition.) We will be asking all interested pianists to perform selected repertoire with current students (either by your own arrangement with individual students that you know and will pay yourself, or by us finding students and assigning repertoire to you to perform in your audition). Auditions will occur once every semester, and will be held by a panel of collaborative piano faculty members. Work Mode: On-Campus Position
Hourly Rate: $25/hour
Hours per Week: As needed; up to 20.
Responsibilities - Accompany instrumental and/or vocal students in private lessons, masterclasses, juries, classes, and/or other performance experiences.
- Learn assigned music prior to collaborating with your fellow students (e.g., correct tempi, dynamics, etc.).
- Exhibit professionalism in all interactions with students, faculty, staff, and audience members.
- Respond to inquiries from students, faculty, and staff in a timely manner regarding private lessons, masterclasses, and/or other performance experiences.
- Adhere to departmental guidelines regarding reporting hours, payroll deadlines, and other items.

Minimum Qualifications: | Minimum Qualifications - Current student in the Mannes BM, MM, or PDPL degree programs.
- Prior coursework in collaborative skills, and/or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications: | Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor of Music degree.
- Recipient of a Federal Work Study award.
