Responsibilities
Strategic Communications 55%
Research and interview patients, families and providers for creating compelling stories for SC website, e-newsletters/intranet and social media channels.
Research and write other articles and or content to support marketing, fundraising and provider targeted, patient recruitment efforts.
Follow AP style and SHC identity standards
Strategically plan, execute and create content for location-specific social media platforms
Contribute digital content for system-wide strategy
Assist Manager/Director with internal communications
Research, write and distribute press releases and media advisories.
Organize and facilitate hospital tours.
Collaborative Communications 35%
Encourage enthusiasm, positive morale and teamwork among employees
Work with other departments and medical staff to solicit stories
Assist Manager/Director with Shriners International temple relations
Coordinate facility special events such as public celebrations, celebrity and VIP visits and others as requested.
Manage and maintain patient ambassador program
Ensure confidentiality and patient privacy during tours, events and media visits
Travel as needed to attend meeting or represent SHC at community, temple or fundraising events.
Departmental Support 10%
Provides reports on department activity and progress toward goals
Manage multiple projects
Upload photos, videos and consents to Digital Assets Management system
Research media outlets and maintain current media contact list, using media monitoring platform.
General office duties including, but not limited to, answering phones, filing, inventory of marketing collateral, meeting minutes
Qualifications
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related field required
3 or more years of Communications, Media and or Public Relations experience
Proven experience in narrative style writing/composition
