JOB SUMMARY: Special Operations Support (SOS) Team Paramedics are prepared to respond to emergency situations that fall outside routine or daily EMS operations, including mass casualty incidents and natural disaster deployments, as well as pre-planned special event support missions. This position will require the candidate to commit to unscheduled rotational deployments of 14 to 30 days or longer in geographical regions that have recently or are currently experiencing an event that overwhelms local public safety resources. Team members will be expected to function in areas with disrupted infrastructure and lacking normal provisions like hotel rooms and electricity for extended periods of time. In addition, this position will provide scheduled variable shift support to company business units throughout the Pacific Region, providing patient assessment and medical care, ground or air transport, and other services in the pre-hospital and hospital environment. This position is appropriate for an energetic, professionally minded EMS individual. This position will require overnight travel on a regular and reoccurring basis. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES: Safe and efficient operation of ambulances and other company equipment. Basic and advanced life support treatment and transportation of sick and injured persons. Providing emergency medical treatment, while not exceeding the level of skill, training and certification of the individual employee. Full compliance with all applicable state, local, and federal regulations and laws, pertaining to but not limited to protocols, standards of care, motor vehicle operations, and patient rights. Observes patient, records significant conditions and treatments rendered. Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of patient. Prepares inventories and stocks supplies and inspects equipment for proper operation. Cleans and disinfects interior/exterior of ambulance. Cleaning and maintaining the cleanliness and proper stocking of the ambulance, company vehicles, equipment, office, lounge, and bathrooms. Provide excellent customer service by effectively communicating with patients, family members, medical personnel, and the general public in verbal and written form. Completing and maintaining accurate records and documentation with regard to transport, equipment inspection, supplies usage incidents and other forms of documentation inherent in the operation. Perform other duties as assigned. HOURS: Full time. Various shifts. QUALIFICATIONS Experience: Minimums 6 months EMS experience Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
