SUMMARY:
Grand Central Publishing is seeking a Marketing Associate to join the team. This individual will create and implement title marketing campaigns for books and authors across the Grand Central list – working both collaboratively with other marketers as well as independently – and will also help maintain Grand Central’s social media platforms, website and newsletters and engage with our growing book community. The position will report to the Associate Marketing Director.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement title-specific marketing campaigns each season - both collaboratively with other marketers as well as independently -- and ensure that author and publisher objectives are met.
- Work with key stakeholders (author, agent, editorial, sales, publicity and marketing) during the planning phase to ensure that there are cohesive and strategic marketing efforts made for each title.
- Work closely with the publicity & marketing team to develop comprehensive digital strategies and guidance for our books and authors.
- Collaborate closely with authors and their teams to implement strategic marketing efforts through their personal platforms
- Help to develop and grow imprint-specific digital platforms, including website, newsletters, and social media platforms.
- Ensure that marketing efforts directly engage readers, build community retention and loyalty, and drive sales.
- Collaborate on social media, including post preparation and scheduling and fan and follower interaction.
- Help to grow our influencer program with an emphasis on connecting with an inclusive group of passionate readers.
- Collaborate on GCP marketing initiatives, including influencer open houses, book club outreach and seasonal programs.
- Communicate thoughtful marketing updates leading up to, during, and after publication.
- Manage year-round marketing campaigns for key backlist titles.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Minimum of 2 years of marketing experience, with experience in social media marketing campaigns
- Understanding of effective marketing strategies and ability to develop creative approaches to achieving marketing goals
- Experience developing and deploying social media marketing campaigns.
- Understanding of the ever-evolving social and digital media landscape.
- Results-oriented, motivated, resourceful & able to work independently.
- Superb communication skills (verbal and written) with the aptitude to communicate effectively in both individual and group settings.
- Experience working with high profile personalities and/or brands a plus
- Ability to transition between innovative brainstorming and attention to details and deadlines.
- Aptitude for thriving in a work environment that is fast-paced, nimble, and flexible.

The compensation range for this position is $53,200 - $55,000. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location — talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
