Senior Accountant
Our client is an aerospace machine shop in Simi Valley that is a sister company of a world aerospace leader in dedicated lean-cell manufacturing. They specialize in complex, high-tolerance, difficult-to-machine parts. They are looking for a Senior Accountant. In this role you will be responsible for overseeing various accounting, finance, and administrative functions under the guidance of accounting leadership.
Location: Simi Valley Salary: $80,000 - 100,000/yr (DOE) This is a full time, direct-hire position Schedule: Mon-Fri 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
Responsibilities:
Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes efficiently.
Conduct bank reconciliations for multiple divisions.
Perform thorough balance sheet and profit and loss reconciliations.
Review and reconcile accrual and prepaid accounts, making necessary adjusting entries.
Handle intercompany transactions and prepare associated reconciliations and adjustments.
Ensure accuracy in payroll operations, including timesheet reconciliation.
Manage quarterly sales tax returns, annual business licenses, and property tax filings.
Assist in preparing and reviewing monthly financial statements, including necessary adjusting entries.
Verify the accuracy of data entry into the MRP system.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures.
Provide direct support to the Controller on special projects, proposal research, and issue resolution.
Supervise the Accounts Payable clerk, providing guidance and support as needed.
Stay informed about industry best practices and implement procedures to improve efficiency and reporting accuracy.
Adhere to workplace safety guidelines, company policies, and relevant state and federal regulations.
Requirements:

Ensure accurate financial records and reporting by adhering to GAAP principles.

Preferred: Apply 3-5 years of aerospace and government contracting accounting experience to inform financial strategies.
Preferred: Utilize finance or accounting degree and five years of experience to drive financial success.
Preferred: Cultivate managerial abilities to support team members in achieving financial goals.
Preferred: Optimize inventory management processes through experience with MRP systems.
