POSITION SUMMARY
The Teacher – CTE, FPOS Entrepreneurship designs, develops, and delivers high quality instruction aligned with the teaching assignment within the Entrepreneurship Program of Study. The role reports to the designated administrator on the teacher’s assigned campus. This position guides the learning process towards the achievement of CTE curriculum goals, including, but not limited to, designing, developing, and delivering instruction, student recruitment, business and industry partner recruitment, facilitating work-based learning and career exploration opportunities, managing Career and Technical Student Organizations, supporting CTE events during the school day, on evenings, and weekends as directed, and attending mandatory CTE professional development, both during the school year and through the summer.
ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES
Plan a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students, preparing for assigned classes and demonstrating written evidence of preparation upon request, as well as guiding the learning process towards the achievement of curriculum goals, establishing clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and assessments, clearly communicating expectations with students, families, and staff. Implement all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, including, but not limited to, developing and communicating clear, reasonable rules of classroom behavior and maintaining classroom order in a fair and just manner. Facilitate extra-instructional initiatives essential to CTE Program of Study implementation, including, but not limited to, student recruitment, business and industry partner recruitment, supporting CTE events during the school day, evenings, and on the weekends, and responding to student, family, and stakeholder requests.

Expand and improve professional competence, including, but not limited to, participating in professional development (mandatory during the school year and in the summer), attending meetings, maintaining professional relationships with colleagues, establishing and sustaining communication with students, parents, and community members Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Texas Teacher Certificate appropriate for level and/or subject area of assignment.

Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the district.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the district.
Ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into focus; judge distance (close and distant); reach with arms extended and use hands to manipulate the keyboard.
Ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds, stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, twist, bend, climb, and/or be mobile.
Ability to travel throughout the district and city by means of private or public transportation. If driving personal (or
private) vehicle, must possess a valid driver’s license and appropriate insurance coverage.
