The Transplant Nursing Educator will provide clinical education to the new hires and current department staff. Reporting to the Director of Professional Development, the Nurse Educator primarily supports the Nursing Team dedicated to caring for Transplant patients. Responsibilities of the Transplant Nurse Educator include coordinating the on-boarding and new hire orientation for all inpatient, acute care employees working on the medical surgical units. The Transplant Nurse Educator will ensure compliance, patient safety, and quality care is consistently delivered through promoting a team oriented, positive, patient-centered environment.
With state-of-the-art equipment throughout the hospital, the Transplant Nursing Educator will be up-to-date utilizing advanced technology and evidence based practice. The Nurse Educator Transplant should also be familiar with using electronic medical records EMR, creating educational curriculum and programs, presenting, and mentoring teams. Additionally, the Nurse Educator Transplant will have a recent clinical background working in an acute care setting, prior preceptor or Nurse Educator experience, hold their Registered Nurse License, and ideally hold their MSN. The Transplant Nurse Educator should have a clinical background in Critical Care, in Med/Surg caring for Transplant patients.
