Position Summary | Gettysburg College, in historic Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, is seeking an experienced professional for a full-time position as the Director of Academic Operations, Finances, and Communications in the Provost’s Office. Gettysburg is an undergraduate liberal arts and sciences college enrolling about 2,300 residential students. Reporting directly to the Provost, this position performs a wide variety of administrative functions, including strategically manage the operating budget of the Provost’s Office and the academic division; track restricted and unrestricted funds and accounts to maximize financial and operational efficiencies; provide input in building and allocating operational budgets in the academic division and allocating resources for equipment needs in the academic division; manage periodic communications and update website for the Provost’s Office; manage allocation of and compensation for administrative support staff lines in the academic division; support the overall management of academic division salary budgets for faculty, administrators and support staff; and support the development and updating of policies and procedures.

Qualifications | A bachelor’s degree is required; master’s degree preferred. At least five years’ experience working in a complex and diverse environment with budget, supervisory, and human resource responsibilities highly desired. Experience streamlining processes and using data, including data analytics modeling, to support decisions is desired.
Expertise with the use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook, Enterprise Human Resource Management and Financials (preferably PeopleSoft), Document Management (preferably Onbase and DocuSign) is highly desired. Additionally, experience with web tools and software for the creation of online materials is desired. The successful candidate will have a high facility with financial management spreadsheets and tools; facility with report-writing, financial modeling, and data visualization; strategic thinking for resource allocation; preparing communications to various constituents; policy development; develop positive working relationships; successfully organize and prioritize work tasks; cooperatively work as a team member; collaborate with individuals on projects and display creativity and imagination. The successful candidate should also have the demonstrated ability to build consensus around business process development and implement changes to make administrative processes more efficient, transparent, and equitable. Must have a keen sense of professional judgment and attention to detail; possess the communication skills and cross-cultural abilities to maximize effectiveness with diverse groups of students, colleagues, and community members.

This is a full-time, 12-month administrative position.
