Position Summary
Monmouth University is seeking applications for a Counselor for the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) program.
The candidate would be expected to: support the mission of Monmouth University and the Educational Opportunity Fund program through comprehensive support services for educationally under-prepared and economically-disadvantaged scholars; meet scholars individually and in groups to discuss areas of personal, academic and career counseling; assist in implementing the 5 week summer academy; social engagement and workshop development; work with scholars from application through graduation and beyond.
This is an in-person on-campus, non-remote position.

Computer literacy with standard office applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, student information systems, and other web-based platforms.
Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate evening or weekend programming activities (e.g., summer academy, recruitment, etc.) as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Higher Education, Education, Psychology.Experience in higher education, college counseling, or related student development experience in a college setting. Demonstrated ability and skill in addressing the issues and factors impacting at-risk college students.
Demonstrated experience with developing creative initiatives to meet the needs of students/clients. Ability to thrive working in a team environment, with demonstrated experience developing strong working relationships with both internal and external partners.

Assist in the development, implementation, and coordination of the EOF Summer Academy and various student development programming throughout the year (e.g., workshops, social engagement, enrichment series, leadership development, graduation celebration, etc.).
