Responsibilities
Job Summary
Responsible for assessing educational needs and developing and teaching classes for patients staff and community members. Also conducts support groups and/or other programs for the Education Services Department.
Maintains program attendance and other required documentation.
Provides accurate and current information based on Community Health Education-approved teaching outlines and meets outside regulatory and legal requirements (ie. American Heart Association CLIA Arthritis Foundation).
Proficient in adult learning techniques.
Qualifications
Experience
Certification(s) required where applicable (ie. CPR and First Aid Instructor Certification).
Must have one-year recent experience in teaching community education classes excellent public relations skills and ability to communicate with a wide variety of people.
Good organizational and teaching skills are also required.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is required.
Demonstrated competency in health screening techniques if applicable including blood cholesterol level blood sugar level and blood pressure.
Education
High school degree or equivalent required.
Licensure
Preferred: CPR and First Aid Instructor Certification
Special Experience
Requires ability to move equipment (50 lbs.)VCR tables chairs and charts.
Requires ability to stand for long periods of time (3-4 hours).
