Essential Functions:
Log medications upon entry into the facility and monitor documentation of medications; disposal of all “old” medications per the policy.
Completes all necessary paperwork including shift reports, intake forms, and client admission documents, and reviews Residential Specialist documentation for accuracy, assuring all documentation is completed per agency policy
Answers business line to converse and assesses caller’s appropriateness for admission to residential treatment or makes referral to other suitable community agencies.
Answers business line at River Haven and conveys messages to staff or forwards to appropriate department.
Performs and supervises safety and fire inspections and drills per agency policy.
Attends and provides input to agency meetings, as assigned.
Supervises and assists in the cleaning of facility.
Scheduling and maintaining coverage for the facility, which requires coverage seven (7) days per week and up to twenty-four (24) hours per day, approve time off requests, and participate in coverage of the facility during emergency situations.
Promotes the efficient and effective use of Agency resources, including both labor and consumable supplies.
Complies with and supports others in complying with the Policies and Procedures of the agency.
Observes all rules of confidentiality as they relate to client information both internally and in dealing with outside individuals and/or agencies.
Assumes responsibility for being knowledgeable about client rights and the procedures governing them.
Provides support to residents by listening and being empathic.
Handles crisis situations in a calm, quick and efficient manner and when necessary calls the supervisor Case Manager, Counselor, 911 or the appropriate authorities as the situation demands and per agency policy.
Promote positive staff/client interactions through role modeling and teaching.
Creating a calm atmosphere and role modeling effective conflict resolution.
Responsible for transporting clients when needed to appointments or treatment meetings using company van or personal vehicle; plan transportation schedule and ensure adequate staff are scheduled.
Maintain a valid driver’s license in the state of Ohio with insurance coverage of at least $100,000 per occurrence and $300,000 aggregate per year.
Responsible for assuring agency van is maintained and any maintenance issues or equipment are reported to the appropriate staff or through a maintenance request.
Assume other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Provide direct supervision to all Residential Specialists on a weekly basis or as assigned by the program director; responsible to assist in training new Residential Specialists;
Responsible to have House Meetings with clients to discuss rules, concerns and to advise residents of any changes;
Responsible for development and implementation of daily menu, grocery shopping and cross-checking menus with purchases and grocery receipts;
Responsible to record all appropriate client statistics including census reports;
Responsible to be the liaison with the medical department for completion of medical reviews, assure all medical documents are uploaded into the client EHR.
Manage all shelter supplies
Ensure current certificates/licenses are posted and replaced as required; updated policies are replaced/posted as required;
Ensure all clients are treated with respect and dignity; relate to other persons and tolerate differences in values and opinions which include sensitivity to OhioGuidestone service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics,
May be involved in the planning, organization, and implementation of special events, specific projects, or program changes.
Exhibit positivity, flexibility and a willingness to take on new responsibilities as requested or required.
Demonstrate positive leadership, promote a team-based work environment and present the agency in the most positive light with all internal and external contacts.
Performance/Physical Requirements:
Able to ascend and descend stairs to perform routine checks on clients.
Able to move or transport approximately a minimum of 20 pounds.
Qualifications:
Minimum education is a high school diploma and a CDCA license.
Associate’s degree in Behavioral Health or related field preferred.
Experience managing a residential setting preferred.
Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License with a safe driving record and valid insurance
Ability to take and pass a physical exam, tuberculosis test, and drug screening
