POSITION SUMMARY:
The General Manager (GM) is responsible for the profitability, market share, customer satisfaction and operational excellence of the dealership. This leadership position is responsible for the recruitment, development, and retention of a high-performance team delivering the company mission.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Nurture and lead a culture of extraordinary customer and associate experiences.
- Develop, implement, and evolve processes that consistently deliver our mission and ROI.
- Develop and achieve operating budgets that achieve stockholder objectives.
- Establish, and execute strategies to exceed manufacturer sales efficiency and customer loyalty.
- Monitor, manage, and report operational benchmarks routinely with ownership.
- Develop, execute, and administer marketing plans to support growth.
- Manage inventory and assets for optimum ROI.
- Directly interact with customers and associates to generate sales, gross margins, and loyalty.
- Monitor, manage and maintain accurate paperwork, legal, and ethical compliance.
- Lead professional development strategies for personnel.
- Execute continuous leadership and professional skills education.
- Report progress, challenges, options, and solutions to ownership toward outstanding results.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Successful experience in the following capacities:
- Retail automobile Sales, Finance, and Used Vehicle department management.
- V-AUTO, CDK, CRM
- Experience and manufacturer learning certifications.
- Prior recognitions of achievement and performance.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
- Hours may vary daily to meet business demands.
- Typical schedules run 8 to 10 hours five or six days a week.
- This is a leadership, supervisory position requiring schedule flexibility.
COMPENSATION, BENEFITS AND REWARDS:
- Compensation is targeted at 12% to 15% of New and Used Department operating net profit.
- This position offers a weekly draw against future earned commission and bonus.

- Outside (manufacturer) rewards and bonuses may be offered from time to time.
