The InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown Hotel is located in the Wilshire Grand building, standing 73 stories tall in the core of Downtown’s historic, entertainment, financial, arts, and sports districts. Ideally placed at the heart of the revitalized, energy-charged urban center of the United States’ second-largest city, the hotel provides first-class hospitality that seamlessly intertwines with the fabric of the burgeoning Downtown area.
Your Day to Day
Expedite food from kitchen to customer to ensure prompt service of meals to guests while following luxury and fine dining standards and sequence of service.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain all assigned food production service areas in an orderly manner in compliance with sanitation and health regulations.
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments. Key departmental contacts include Catering, Banquets, Outlets, and Guest Services.
- Deliver food from kitchen to guest's table. Place food in proper position and announce food as it is placed in front of guest, if required.
- Assist the wait staff in the service of food in accordance with the established standards.
- Set up station in the kitchen.
- Maintain the orderly upkeep of coolers and storage areas.
- Assist in table set up and cleaning when required. Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the restaurant in all areas.
- May assist with other duties as needed, such as welcoming, greeting and seating guests, counting and exchanging soiled linen, polishing glassware or silverware, etc.
- May assist with other duties as assigned.

What We Need From You
Basic reading, writing and math skills and 1 year of previous food and beverage experience in a fine dining or luxury environment.
High school diploma or equivalent. Prior food service experience preferred, especially in a fine dining or luxury setting.
This job requires ability to perform the following:
- Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Standing up and moving about the kitchen, outlet or other designated areas
- Handling food, objects, products, chemicals, cleaning supplies and utensils
- Bending, stooping, kneeling
Other:
- Communicating with other people, listening and following up on basic guest requests
- Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency.
- May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
What We Offer
The hourly pay range for this role is $16.78 to $29.80. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Los Angeles, California. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
