Position Summary:
This Fixed Income Product Controller will lead a team of 7 members and report to the Head of Product Control. A Fixed Income Product Controller is responsible for the accounting and financial reporting of the fixed Income trading desks. Desks include Fixed Income Derivatives (Rates, FX, Deal Contingent, Counterparty Portfolio Management), Interest Rate Products, Securitized Products, Credit and Municipals. Product Controllers are responsible for the monitoring and oversight of transactions, P&L, revenue commentary and balance sheet substantiation.
Essential Job Duties:
Oversight of daily, monthly and quarterly P&L production and analysis, including P&L attribution
Daily interaction with the Fixed Income trading desks.
Liaison with various areas within the firm (e.g. Operations, Technology, Middle Office and Market Risk)
Collaborate with FP&A team on budget planning and revenue forecasting.
Working with Operations and Finance to improve cash reconciliation controls.
Process reengineering and working with Project Managers to improve efficiencies and streamline processes.
Oversee Month-end General Ledger closes.
Oversee Balance sheet substantiation.
Ad hoc requests from the desk.
Participation in Finance initiatives
Work with financial control in preparation of key external reports such as disclosures
Qualifications:
Fixed Income Product Control and Accounting experience at a large bank
CPA or CFA preferred, but not required
10+ years of product control experience
Previous management experience
High attention to detail
Capable of running with projects and leading team.
Fast learner and team player
Strong analytic and problem solving skills
Highly proficient in Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; the ability to clearly articulate ideas
The expected base salary ranges from $200,000 - $275,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
