Corrigan Krause is looking for a Tax Notice Specialist to join our expanding Tax Department. The Tax Notice Specialist will play a crucial role in assisting our clients and our tax department in resolving complex tax notice issues. You will be responsible for analyzing, managing, and resolving a variety of federal, state, and local tax notices efficiently and accurately.

Tax Notice Analysis: Review, analyze, and interpret various tax notices received from tax authorities, identifying the underlying issues and potential actions required.
Communication: Correspond with tax authorities, clients, and internal team members to gather necessary information, clarify notice details, and provide timely updates on notice resolution progress.
Resolution Planning: Develop comprehensive plans and strategies for addressing tax notices, including researching relevant tax laws and regulations, and advising clients on potential solutions.
Document Management: Maintain organized records of all tax notices, correspondence, and related documents, ensuring that documentation is complete and up-to-date.
Client Support: Provide exceptional client service by addressing client inquiries, explaining notice resolutions, and assisting with additional tax-related questions or concerns.
Compliance Assistance: Collaborate with tax professionals to ensure that clients remain in compliance with tax regulations and deadlines, including preparing and filing amended returns, if necessary.
Research and Stay Informed: Stay current with changes in tax laws, regulations, and guidelines, and share relevant information with the team to enhance tax notice resolution strategies.
Quality Assurance: Review completed work for accuracy and completeness, and assist in the development of best practices and process improvements.
Knowledge & Skills:
Knowledge of business, individual, and payroll tax return compliance
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to maintain multiple tasks and deadlines
Strong ability to provide client services and manage multiple engagements, while providing analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
Great analytical, organizational, project management, oral and written communication skills
Develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
Professionalism and integrity by adhering to the CK Mission and Core Values
Qualifications:
3+ years of work experience in tax compliance or tax notice resolution required
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required, Master’s degree preferred
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) is required
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Excel, etc.) required
Experience with tax/accounting software preferred
