The compensation for this appointment will range from $20.00 to $22.00 hourly and reflects what California Baptist University reasonably expects to pay for this staff appointment. Assists in receiving and sorting of all incoming mail, courier deliveries, interoffice mail and packages. Prepares and processes outbound mail, courier deliveries, interoffice mail and packages. Operates postage meter machine, weighing equipment and department vehicles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Receives directly and/or transports US mail for the US Postal Service, on a time sensitive daily schedule.
Sorts and delivers incoming mail, parcels, and other materials to University departments located in either single or multi-level buildings on campus and at off site locations.
Collects, weighs, and affixes shipping labels to outgoing mail, parcels, and other materials for domestic and international destinations in accordance with the appropriate shipping courier regulations.
Provides direct friendly customer assistance; furnishes customers with information regarding University postal policy, USPS regulations, and generally accepted mailing standards.
Maintains appropriate records regarding postage, certified mail, parcels, and other mail requiring special handling.
Assists with the pickup and destruction of classified materials across campus.
Maintains an inventory of supplies.
Maintains current standards and compliance with postal regulations.
Keeps work areas orderly, clean, and safe; ensures proper care in the use of equipment and supplies.
Ensures security of metering equipment in compliance with USPS regulations and department security requirements; ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; and promotes workplace safety.
Assist in researching/updating student campus mailbox data.
Maintain accurate records of business reply mail, postage due accounts and package management software data.
Performs audits to ensure items are being logged in/out properly in package management software.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position could be responsible for assigning work and/or giving direction to part-time Student Workers, in order to complete work assignments.

Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns in a professional, service-oriented manner.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit; and requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard or other office equipment. Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
