DESCRIPTION
The AWS Center for Quantum Computing is looking to hire a Sr. Applied Scientist with expertise in computational physics as well as software engineering. In this role, you will work on Palace, our open-source cloud-scalable 3D finite-element electromagnetics solver [1,2], as well as research related to numerical simulation and scientific computing.
You will have an opportunity to make an enduring impact on the development of fault-tolerant quantum computers without necessarily having a quantum computing research background. Take a look at what we're building!
Key job responsibilities You will build modeling and simulation capabilities in an open-source 3D finite element electromagnetics solver, diagnose and improve performance, maintain CI/CD and builds, and address issues reported internally and externally.
You will conduct research at the intersection of computational electromagnetics and superconducting quantum computing and serve as a domain expert and mentor to internal team members who work on device design and modeling and simulation tools.
A day in the life Diverse Experiences AWS values diverse experiences. Even if you do not meet all of the qualifications and skills listed in the job description, we encourage candidates to apply. If your career is just starting, hasnt followed a traditional path, or includes alternative experiences, dont let it stop you from applying.

Any time you conduct a search, the system shows you job matches, ranked by their Relevance Score (RS).
The score is calculated by a proprietary algorithm that uses Intelligent Machine Learning.
The Relevance Score tells you how well the job opportunity matches your search term or terms.
When not logged in, the system is limited to one search term. Scores for single term matches are usually lower.
When you register, log in, and set up multiple terms prioritized by importance, the jobs found for you will receive a much higher Relevance Score.
