Overview
Abacus Technology is seeking a Multimedia Producer/Director/Scriptwriter to act as a storyteller through a variety of platforms for the eMITS program at NASA Headquarters. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities
Facilitate the technical and content objectives for assigned multimedia projects including, but not limited to, podcasts and vodcasts.
Edit, produce and script NASA branded programming for delivery to general audiences on one or more electronic platforms including, but not limited to, NASA.gov, NASA's flagship social media accounts, NASA streaming services, and NASA TV.
Generate and manipulate content into consolidated and seamless programs.
Scope projects and lead efforts from concept through post-production, including creative pitches, storyline decisions, casting, research, subject matter interviews, production logistics, budgets, schedules, client relations and coordination with outside vendors.
Set goals and objectives, manage budgets and schedules, coordinate and supervise performance of all team members, and assist staff as needed.
Maintain progress of projects and inspects quality of production.
Able to write, proofread, and edit scripts and other copy content; assist with auditions and recommends performers for roles in specific productions and conducts rehearsals; assist in coordinating, creating and producing all elements of recorded productions.
Qualifications
8+ years experience directing and producing multimedia programs. Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Must specialize in audio or video. Working knowledge of story fundamentals, storyboarding, news techniques, and studio and field production. Strong writing and interviewing skills, experience with online platforms, and ability to operate electronic reporting, editing and production equipment. Experienced in multimedia project management, creation and production in government, corporate and aerospace fields. Able to frequently work with high-profile government officials and individuals. Able to remain abreast of technological advances in the field and be able to identify areas of use in the organization. May work on behalf of a particular NASA mission, program or project, or specialize in a relevant topical science or technology field. Experience with Adobe Suites. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected; mentor junior producer’s projects. Must be a US citizen.
