SUMMARY
The Senior (Sr.) Specialist of Indirect Procurement leads the corporate procurement strategy to obtain optimum cost control, improve services and foster strong partnerships internally and externally with stakeholders. With a focus on supporting the Information Technology category, other potential categories of support may include Professional Services & Facilities as directed. Successful candidates have a strong interpersonal and collaborative approach to achieving goals, resourceful problem-solving abilities, experience overseeing indirect spend and supporting cross- functional program/project plans to deliver the key team activities of strategic sourcing, technology and process improvement efforts.
JOB DUTIES
- Support Procurement leadership in establishing a high functioning, best in class sourcing organization capable of driving impact and delivering savings
- Leads the development of complex RF(x) proposal documents, manages targeted negotiation strategies, and drives analysis of supplier proposal responses with a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) mindset.
- Oversee the preparation, review, and execution of procurement contracts for designated categories, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Engage and influence multiple business groups to adopt and implement strategies. Partners with internal stakeholders to analyze spend and performance trends to identify strategies to deliver potential savings and service quality improvements to achieve desired business objectives and financial support for budgeting, price forecasting and other financial activities.
- Develop and implement spend leverage strategies, including policies, and driving best practice sharing and development.
- Develops, leads and maintains effective relationships with suppliers. Drive supplier management/development activities to ensure continuous cost, process, and service improvement.
- Prepares and presents key sourcing event results and strategies to JOANN stakeholders, including business owners and executive team.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Ability to supervise or assume a leadership position in timely and efficient execution of projects and contracts with applicable stakeholders/business owners of projects/contracts.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Education Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Marketing or related field.
Experience Minimum: 5+ years' experience in corporate indirect sourcing and contracting.
Experience Preferred: 6+ years of relevant experience in a retail environment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Experience negotiating and/or interacting directly with external suppliers / business partners
- Demonstrate strong organizational, multi-tasking/planning, and time management skills to meet multiple simultaneous deadlines
- Ability to work collaboratively and support multiple sourcing events concurrently
- Strong verbal and print communication skills at vendor, manager and executive levels
- Proficiency in Coupa and SAP a plus
- Able to work independently to identify and research relevant market, industry and supplier information. In addition to the occasional internal touch bases with applicable parties involved
- Manage internal and external data with clarity, confidentiality and accuracy.
- MS Office Suite proficiency
