POSITION SUMMARY: The Project Engineer ensures timely and efficient completion of engineering and special operations projects to achieve company cost and customer service objectives. Assists lead project manager with technical responsibility for design planning, organizing, and conducting technical projects or phases of projects involving design and development of new or improved products and/or processes.
The Project Engineer will create drawings, parts lists, engineering estimates of work, statements of work, specifications, and other documents used to detail equipment features, requirements and limitations. Review peer and client technical documents including drawings, parts lists, schematics, engineering estimates of work, statements of work, specifications, and other documents used to detail product features, requirements and limitations. The position will be responsible for managing various aspects of project execution both in and out of the field.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The position responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
· CAD/P&ID Drawing Creation and Modifications
· Systems/Process Operating Manual Development and Modification
· Process and Operational Troubleshooting
· Operational Data Management and Analysis
· Equipment Design and Development
· Equipment/Component Specification and Purchase
· Equipment Rebuild and Upgrades design, management and implementation
· Equipment Constriction oversight and management
· Training modules/information development support
· Project specific process development, creation, implementation, and management
· Periodic operations personnel technical training and assessment
DELIVERABLES/ACCOUNTABILITY
- Equipment drawings, tag lists, and P&IDs
- Process/Project drawings
- Project related information and reporting
WORKING CONDITIONS
The Project Engineer may at times have a physically strenuous and demanding job. He/she might be lifting, pulling, and managing heavy equipment, materials, and other objects.
The Project Engineer may at times work outside in all weather conditions including extreme cold and heat. He/she may at times be exposed to dangerous and/or toxic substances and must take necessary precautions to protect eyes, nose and skin. This position is exposed to loud operating equipment and industrial noise, and therefore must wear hearing protection. The Project Engineer is required to wear all issued Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times while on a jobsite. Must also be able to wear a respirator as required.
The Project Engineer will have to manage a number of requests and demanding situations at one time. Stress may be caused by the need to complete ever changing priorities and tasks at one time within tight deadlines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To qualify for this position, the ideal candidate will possess the following minimum requirements:
Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering or related engineering field. Background or experience in preparing operating instructions, CAD/P&ID drawing, process troubleshooting, and diagnosis is preferred.
