The Foundation Data Services team works within Optum Technology to support OptumRx. FDS team is a reference data management team responsible for facilitating compendia data delivery, distribution, integrity and governance. The group also provides consulting, auditing, research and reporting as needed on this critical foundational data.

Primary Responsibilities:
This position ensures integrity/accuracy of drug product, pricing, pharmacy and prescriber data used throughout OptumRx transaction applications and reporting/analytics systems by:
- Performing audit activities to ensure compliance with SOX, CMS and Client requirements
- Engaging with vendors to request/resolve data enhancements or issues
- Providing compendia usage reporting
- Researching and resolving data related service tickets
- Implementation, testing and validation of data restructuring projects
- Analyzes current business practices, processes and procedures as well as identifying future business opportunities for optimizing data storage and retrieval system capabilities
- Design schemas, write SQL or other data markup scripting and helps to support development of analytics and applications that build on top of data

Required Qualification:
- Bachelors degree in a computer science or information systems field from a four-year college or university or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years of systems/business analyst and/or technical experience
- 2+ years of industry experience
- Proficient SQL coding and analytical skills
- Proficiency in testing methods and processes
- Ability to make recommendations on development and report design
- Ability to analyze, design, test and support various report/data extract applications
- Proven excellent written and verbal skills, organizational and interpersonal skills, planning and project management skills
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of associates, managers, vendors and clients
- Ability to handle multiple projects and identify, research, analyze and solve practical problems taking into account relevant factors and a wide variety of concrete variables
- Ability to meet strict deadlines
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Ability to be part of a team environment as well as work independently with limited direction from management
- Ability to work during normal US business hours
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including; Excel, Access, Word, SharePoint, Outlook and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:
- Healthcare claims data reporting or PBM experience
- Experience using mainframe applications

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
