Duties and Responsibilities
Teaches across multiple areas with a focus in medical and surgical nursing of adults, health assessment, critical care nursing and pharmacology, Pathophysiology; supervises students in clinical setting at the undergraduate level; active scholarship and grantsmanship/fundraising; service at the program, department and university levels; provides curriculum instruction and program development; advises students and collaborates with colleagues, continues professional development in scholarship teaching, community service, maintains clinical expertise and knowledge of the profession.
Conditions of Employment
Experience
Evidence of an active record of scholarship and service at the program, department and university levels preferred.
Education
Master’s Degree in Nursing required. Doctorate in Nursing or other related area.
This position is for a full-time, tenure-track faculty member.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Must have expertise in Medical/Surgical/Critical Care Nursing. Strong preference will be given to candidates with didactic experience in the main area of teaching at the collegiate level. A strong, demonstrated record of clinical expertise, experience with assessment and evaluation of student learning outcomes is required. Expertise in critical care throughout the lifespan is required. Experience with total program evaluation and accreditation preferred. Must hold a current or be eligible for an unencumbered license to practice nursing in Maryland, Washington, DC, or a compact state.
