Pay Range: $112,630.00 - $150,362.00Reporting to the Controller, the Assistant Controller will serve as a key member of the division. The position requires an experienced professional who can support the division in achieving its strategic initiatives through contributing to financial analysis and the timely and accurate reporting of financial information. Includes responsibility for assisting the Controller in effectively managing the accountingfinance function to achieve efficient, economical performance while meeting corporate, financial accounting, legal and regulatory policies, guidelines and requirements.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
3-5 years experience Big 4 Accounting firm a plus 7-10 years experience in accounting role required, banking industry experience preferred
CPAor equivalent experience
Skills and Abilities:
Experience with a public company reporting to the SEC.
Possess strong accounting technical skills.
Excellent written communication skills required
Experience with internal financial reporting, monthly close processes and the corporate budget process.
Familiarity with Sarbanes Oxley, consolidations, budgeting and forecasting and corporate tax accounting.
Ability to articulate complex financial issues to all levels of management advisors outside the organization.
Demonstrated project leadership skills, including directing the work of others or previous supervisory experience.
Advanced computer literacy with strong Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
Financial analysis skills required
Tasks Performed:
30% Complete month-end and quarter-end reporting requirements, including, but not limited to, reconciliations, variance analyses, memos, SOX, standard entries, etc.
20% Completion of financial analyses and reviews to support the Division's strategic decision making, budgets/forecasts and monthly financial analysis.
15% Oversee various special projects in order to enhance the department's customer service, efficiencies, system enhancements andor financial reporting.
15% Reviews emerging and authoritative accounting guidance, assessing its relevance and providing summaries and information to the Controller and CFO for their review.
10% Participate in the financial analysis of merger and acquisition due diligence.
5% Attract, retain and develop staff and serve as a mentor.
5% Other duties as assigned.
