Position: Principal Software Engineer
Job Location: 640 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086
Duties: Contribute to development of Walmart International websites and supporting APIs. Establish architectural practices including technical design review and support in production environment. Enforce code review standards and automate it with quality gates. Conduct UX experiments using A/B testing as part of decision making process for UI. Maintain performance baseline for the websites and APIs to drive customer adoption. Coach team members on engineering/operational excellence.
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years of experience in software engineering or related area; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years of experience in software engineering or related area.
Skills required: Experience designing and developing websites using React, Javascript, HTML, and CSS. Experience designing and implementation of fault-tolerant scalable APIs including EST and GraphQL. Experience in ownership of CI/CD pipeline for artifacts including version control system (Git), build tool (Jenkins), and deployment platform (Kubernetes). Experience with monitoring of production environments using metrics systems including Prometheus and Grafana and log system including Splunk. Experience planning of cloud capacity using Azure and GCP for deployed assemblies and representing the team in discussions with SRE teams. Experience triaging issues using Chrome DevTools, Visual Studio Code, Node.js, Debugger and logs. Experience measuring performance daily against Google Web Vitals framework and established SLOs. Experience leading architecture discussions and documenting architecture decisions. Experience controlling the quality using Jest, Istanbul, and Cucumber and automation testing reporting using WebDriver and Selenium. Experience scaling team effectiveness through Agile and Scrum process customization and monitoring. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: $150,762/year to $286,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.? Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
