Who You Are:
As the Planner, you will play a key role in developing financial plans and monitoring the performance of sales, inventory, markdowns and profit by classification from a top-line to store level. You will also be responsible for reporting and recapping your business to cross functional partners and leaders throughout the organization. You will work closely with the buying team to manage the open-to-buy, analyze seasonal merchandise assortments, and develop merchandising strategies. You have strong analytical skills and creative problem-solving skills, are curious, collaborative and an effective communicator that thrives in a rapidly changing environment.
What You’ll Do:
Initiate analysis and develop financial strategy for an omni channel retail business across multiple classifications and channels (full price stores and ecommerce).
Create seasonal, monthly, and weekly plans and forecasts for sales, inventory, markdowns and gross margin. Monitor performance and partner with buying team to develop merchandise strategies to achieve plans.
Initiate and develop actionable analysis to recap business by classification and subclass at a top-line as well as store level in order to partner with cross functional teams (buying, allocation, visual merchandising) to create strategies to drive sales and achieve gross margin profitability.
Manage and update monthly open-to-buy.
Recommend buys based on thorough analysis of retail business prior to each market to achieve increased sales, profitability and sell-thru % by class and department.
Work with buying team, allocation, and stores to analyze business by door to maximize sales and stock opportunities. Monitor flow of initial assortments as well as reorders replenishment to stores by classification and by style.
Produce and analyze weekly reports recapping sales, inventory and gross margin vs. plan and projection by department.
Collaborate with the allocation team and make suggestions for store distortions and size curves.
You’ll Need to Have:
4+ year of experience in Retail Planning, Store Planning and/or Allocation
Bachelor’s Degree
Advanced Excel Skills
Advanced Retail Math
Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment
We’d Love to See:
Background in a sized business preferred but not required.
Multi-channel planning experience
Experience in JDA EP/Allocation
