Opportunity Summary
The Instrumentation, Controls and Electrical (IC&E) Technician is responsible for monitoring the status of all plant systems on a continuous basis. The IC&E Technician ensures that the plant meets its generating requirements while operating in a safe and efficient manner. Responsible for the safe and efficient operation, testing, inspection, and maintenance of all equipment related to an electrical generation plant. Performs work of high skill in the inspection, repair, testing, adjustment, installation and removal of all electronic and electrical power plant equipment and systems.

Working Relationships
The Control Room Operator reports to the Operations Manager and responds to directions from the Operations Manager, Plant Manager and CTO Tech - CRO. The CRO gives direction to operations and maintenance personnel.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Physical requirements include standing for extended periods of time, stair and ladder climbing, and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds. Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g. hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, chemical suits, hot gloves and high voltage protective equipment, etc.). Work with hazardous materials may be required. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.
Fitness for Duty
All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening.
Work Schedule
Regular scheduled workweek is based on a 12 hour rotating shift. Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, workload and plant conditions. "On call" status will periodically be required.
Compensation
Compensation: $44.78 per hour, increased to $49.76 per hour after 6 months of employment.
Job Qualifications
- Ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the area of assignment. Graduation from an accredited Instrument Technician program and two years' work experience as a technician in a related industry desirable.
- Four years' work experience as a technician with increasing responsibility in a related industry may be substituted.
- Must complete the certification for Outside Operator.
- Experience working in an operating or generating plant highly desired.
- Experience working with voltages up to 4,160 volts highly desired.
- Experience troubleshooting PLC’s, DCS’s and relays is highly desired.
- Experience troubleshooting repair & replace electrical switchgear equipment.
- Experience performing non-routine repair & calibration of transmitters/transducers, valve actuators, and valve limit-torques.
- Must be able to work well with others and be self-directed, as well as apply creative solutions to unique IC&E problems.
- Is able to read, understand and respond to written instructions and logbook notations.
- Demonstrates ability to use and correctly read complex plant drawings, blueprints, and manuals.
- Demonstrates knowledge of equipment layout and plant systems.
- Must be able to work from blueprints, P&ID’S, and be skilled in the use of hand and power-driven tools.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills and computer skills.
- Must possess the degrees of maturity, initiative, leadership, judgment and dependability required for effective direction of others.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License.
