The Director, IT Product Owner, SAP, oversees the development and enhancement of the SAP platform and surrounding solutions. The Director leverages depth of SAP process and architecture knowledge to manage product strategy, project execution, technical expertise, research initiatives, and team leadership to drive successful outcomes. The Director has hands on experience with leading development teams along with direct implementation and management of SAP platforms. In addition, the Director, IT Product Owner, SAP manages and optimizes the product backlog in order to maximize the value of the product.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Product Strategy
- Define and execute the product strategy for the SAP platform, aligning with overall business objectives and customer needs
- Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and user feedback sessions to identify opportunities for leveraging new features and functionality to improve and innovate on the platform
- Identify opportunities to leverage and enhance SAP features and capabilities to optimize the value and experience for the end users
- Develop the annual roadmap and budget for the SAP area and manages costs against approved budget
Product Management
- Oversees backlog of requests and prioritize with necessary IT and business stakeholders
- Manage end to end lifecycle of the SAP platform from design, development, maintenance through de-commissioning
- Coordinate with cross functional team members to ensure seamless delivery of planned releases
- Leverage agile methodologies to drive to regular releases that provide optimal value to the Brother team
- Define, analyze, and report on metrics that inform the success and quality of the SAP platform
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor a team of product owners, developers, designers, and other stakeholders, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation
- Provide coaching, support, and professional development opportunities to team members, empowering them to achieve their full potential
- Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the team, creating a supportive and inclusive work environment
Vendor Management
- Manage and optimize the governance structure in place to oversee all vendor delivery and services
- Provide metric-based scorecard to ensure resources are optimized and any issues are proactively addressed
- Monitor vendors costs against budget and identifies opportunities to reduce costs
- Assess vendor risks and strategic alignment throughout the lifecycle of the vendor relationship and identify alternative vendor partners as needed
Capacity Management
- Ensure teams are forecasting demand (across incidents, maintenance, enhancements, and projects) and adjusting based on trends and priority changes
- Maximize resource capacity by leveraging internal and external resources and cross functional collaboration
- Identify resource constraints or risks and provide mitigation options to ensure effective and efficient operations in the SAP team
Technical Expertise & Research
- Be an advocate for the SAP platforms and associated solutions at Brother
- Deep understanding of the SAP product roadmap and solution ecosystem
- Participate in architecture discussions and assessments

ABOUT OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
***
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field
- Master’s Degree in related programs - Preferred
Experience
- 10+ years product management; project management; or related roles within the SAP space; proven track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams and driving SAP projects from concept to launch
Software/Technical Skills
- Experience managing SAP S/4 Hana platform and teams
- In-depth knowledge of SAP architecture, landscape design, and system administration best practices
- Experience with SAP Integrations/ Middleware and Reporting / Analytics standards and technologies
- Experience managing cybersecurity, compliance, application security and data privacy in the SAP platform
- Strong understanding of the SAP DevOps function

ADDITIONAL DETAILS FOR THIS ROLE

This role will be a hybrid role. Subject to business needs, employees may work remotely up to two days per week. Assigned office days will be determined by managers. #LI-Hybrid
- The salary (or hiring) range for this position is $180,000 - $200,000 per year
- Starting salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location, and alignment with market data
- This position is eligible to participate in the relevant Brother variable pay incentive plan(s). Applicable bonus awards are discretionary and contingent upon 1) achievement of your individual objectives and 2) Brother achieving its corporate and business-level objectives
