Job Description
Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
Develops and implements inspection policies, procedures, and a schedule for routine inspections.
Creates health and safety procedures for all company areas.
Prepares and schedules training on emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
Ensures company compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA and Cal OSHA, and advises management on safety compliance and preventative actions.
Drafts reports to document inspection findings.
Plans, implements, and conducts safety training for employees.
Maintains safety files and records.
Conducts post-accident investigations, prepares reports, and handles Workers' Compensation cases.
Manages OSHA logs (300, 301).
Monitors adherence to safety procedures.
Ensures material safety data sheets are maintained and accessible.
Manages the Forklift Program, including employee certification and license record keeping.
Maintains environmental reports, including Tier 2 Reporting, Storm and Wastewater Permits, SPCC, and Emergency Response plans.
Collaborates with plant management to reduce risk through ergonomic evaluations and Job Safety Analysis.
Oversees compliance with IIPP/HIPP, Covid-19 protocols, inspections, fire equipment, emergency response vehicle components, AED units, hoists, ladders, eye wash stations, and stored respirators.
Maintains records of hazardous waste discharge or employee exposure to pollutants, as required.
Leads or supports company audits.
Manages inspections and permits related to RTO, fryers, and oven emissions.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

The Successful Applicant
Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies, with over 5 years of experience.
Extensive safety work experience, preferably in the food manufacturing industry, with over 5 years of experience.
Experience in companies with 400-500 employees is preferred.
Bilingual in Spanish, required.
Extensive knowledge of OSHA and Cal OSHA regulations (general industry), required.
Knowledge of EPA regulations, required.
First Aid/CPR/AED Certification, preferred.
Extensive knowledge of Cal ARP, RMP, and PSM (Ammonia program).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient with technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
Experience with supporting or leading a food defense program, with 2 years of experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related field, preferred; Master's degree desirable.
