Selectek is seeking a Software Engineer in Shady Grove, PA. Job Duties:
Develop concept sketches, layouts, and specification documents.
Writing and testing embedded control software on test benches and on crane.
Assignments may involve new product design, product improvements, test, analysis, production liaison and service liaison utilizing a variety of engineering disciplines.
Responsibilities include understanding structural, hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and/or control system design.
Prepare basic analysis, test, performance, schedule, and cost information as required in assigned area of responsibility.
Prepare and report on progress, feasibility, and concept studies, etc. as required.
Oversee work of test engineers as needed.
Assist other departments in preparation of manuals and sales literature on assigned projects.
Maintain close contact and coordinate activities with other groups within the Product Engineering department.
Ability to perform job functions in a safe manner, successfully complete all safety training required by the time constraints set by governmental regulations.
Ability to wear all Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) required, by company policy, for the job being performed.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with a minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering or will consider candidates currently enrolled in a 4-year engineering degree with a minimum of 9 years of experience in engineering
Candidates with a higher level of experience are encouraged to apply
Must have experience in embedding programming in C language as well as a strong understanding of control theory and state machines is required
Understanding of CAN serial communication (specifically CANOpen) is a plus
Must be able to work in small groups and independently; will interact with a small team of controls engineers/software developers and with project teams to develop software specifications, Code, and test software. Testing is done in simulation and on cranes
Physical activities include typing, computer to design/review/information storage/retrieval/graphics
Must be capable of working on a job site or production factory environment, heat, cold, wet, dry, etc. for brief periods of time
Required to be able to climb a ladder to the height of 12 ft.
Potential travel both domestically and internationally up to 5% of the time
Completed courses and/or experience in analog and digital control theory, embedded control, C programming, and MATLAB and Simulink a strong plus
Pay range: $100,000 - $150,000
