Essential Job Functions:
General Functions:
Developing and delivering educational programs to staff.
Assessing the needs of learners and developing programs that meet those needs.
Creating and using a variety of teaching materials, such as PowerPoint presentations, e-learning courses, videos, and handouts.
Assist in the evaluation of staff knowledge and performance in conjunction with preceptors and leadership.
Evaluating the effectiveness of educational programs and making improvements as needed.
Staying current on the latest educational trends and practices.
Attending and participating in discipline specific, process planning/enhancement, and quality improvement meetings.
Maintaining training records for staff within discipline.
New Hire Orientation:
Participate in orientation of all newly hired staff within the Organ Operations and External Partnership department.
Continually assess and develop orientation program.
Regular check-ins and one-on-one meetings with the trainees to assess their progress and provide support.
Provide the respective preceptors and leadership reports on trainee progress and performance.
Ensure proper documentation of training by regular review of training checklists and competency forms.
Continuing Education:
Identifies knowledge gaps and training and evaluation needs through methods like needs assessments, regulatory changes, and stakeholder input.
Develops continuing education activities (e-learning courses, skills days, job aids, etc.) and curricula to address identified needs, adapting materials to different learning styles.
Develop and administer knowledge assessments to be incorporated in staff annual competency evaluations.
Maintains understanding of latest industry best practices and trends to incorporate into education programs to keep staff current.
Tracks participation and evaluates program efficacy through surveys, testing, monitoring, etc. to optimize quality.
Reports on continuing education progress, effectiveness, and outcomes to leadership stakeholders.
Preceptor Development and Collaboration:
Identifies experienced staff with aptitude and willingness to serve as preceptors/trainers for new hire trainees and subject matter experts.
Develops preceptor training programs to build teaching skills like instruction methods, learning styles, feedback delivery, conflict resolution, completion of training records etc.
Provide preceptors with role-specific training expectations for new hire trainees.
Engages preceptors to evaluate and enhance training curricula based on frontline experience with learners.
Keeps preceptors updated on policies, protocols, best practices to reinforce consistent messaging and training standards.
Quality Assurance:
Perform regular audits of staff training files.
Ensure all training documentation is accurate and complete and filed promptly into staff training files.
Leverage Learning Management System to track and monitor staff training compliance.
Collaborate with Quality Systems and department stakeholders to ensure training documentation is updated to reflect current practice, policy and procedure, and regulatory standards.

Job Qualifications:
Education:
Four (4) year degree preferred.
Previous experience in Organ Donation industry may be substituted for educational requirements.
Experience:
Must have a minimum of three (3) years of organ procurement and/or other healthcare-focused educator experience with experience in training/precepting staff.
Certification/License:
Maintain a valid CA Driver’s License, proof of auto insurance with $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury liability coverage and reliable auto transportation throughout the duration of your employment
