Job Description / Essential Elements:Print
Under direction of the Maintenance and Operations Manager, in coordination with the site administrator, maintain swimming pool, stadium and related areas; perform assigned custodial duties; and perform related work as required. Brush and vacuum pool and clean filters and lines; clean tile and wash pool decks and walks; conduct chemical tests of water and apply chemicals to obtain proper purity readings; monitor pool gauges and temperature; maintain filters, backwash and pump equipment; drain and acid wash pool; clean locker room, showers and related areas; perform minor repairs to swimming pool and equipment including underwater repairs and may assist with major repairs; requisition receive and stock pool supplies and equipment; maintain records; drain and refill pool as needed and assist with the set-up and layout of aquatic sports activities; coordinate and personally perform custodial work to maintain stadium facilities, including synthetic fields, tracks, bleachers, press box areas, snack bar, restrooms and shower facilities; make minor repairs to stadium facilities and assist with major repairs; set up stadiums for athletic/special events; initiate and process work orders.
Must have knowledge of methods, materials and equipment involved in the maintenance and operation of swimming pools; chemical tests for water purity; methods, materials, tools and equipment used in custodial work; safety precautions and procedures; basic computer operation. Must have the ability to obtain a Pool Safety Operational Certificate. Pass a respiratory apparatus test and utilize a breathing apparatus; utilize computer. Two years of experience in the operation and maintenance of swimming pools. Education the equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
