The Performance Engineering Manager role, is part of the Performance & Reliability team supporting ongoing operations of the streaming service. The Manager will oversee a team of experts in end-to-end performance testing, with extensive knowledge of highly-scalable software and infrastructure systems, who will be responsible for monitoring the performance and availability of all platforms and services utilized by the streaming service.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Manage a team of engineers responsible for monitoring and performance testing the direct-to-consumer platform and all associated software components
Work with other leaders in the Performance & Reliability group to ensure that all production systems are properly tested and any identified issues remediated.
Collaborate with the development and engineering groups to define NFRs and plan for changes to software and systems that might impact performance and provide guidance on best practices and techniques for building to scale.
Work with PMO and Product organization to define NFRs that reflect KPIs, usage patterns, and business objectives.
Assist in planning and executing chaos testing to ensure that all systems meet minimum resiliency and reliability standards.
Establish reports & dashboards to report performance tests and metrics to development teams as well as technical and business leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a relevant field
Minimum 7 years of experience managing large-scale digital software systems
Experience using cloud providers with AWS and GCP highly preferred
Experience using CDN services such as Akamai
Expertise in performance test design & analysis
Deep knowledge of test tools such as Gatling and Apache JMeter
Experience in digital media or direct-to-consumer video business highly preferred
Expertise in high-availability software patterns and performance testing
Deep understanding of Dev Ops best practices, including Continuous Delivery

Passionate technologist with a broad set of experiences around software development, testing, design, and architecture
Commitment to building and leading a world-class team of technologists, with demonstrated experience mentoring and growing engineering teams.
