This position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Provides technical expertise in the solution of lighting issues and work requiring originality, initiative and independent judgment. Understands and applies expertise in pre-engineering, construction, maintenance and testing practices, engineering theories, concepts and techniques. Applies knowledge of lighting related computer applications and calculation methods. Authorizes field changes of construction details. (30%) Assists in creating processes that support and coordinate with BGE's electric distribution system. (10%) Trains personnel in the application and use of lighting and electric distribution standards, materials, equipment, software and procedures. Monitors and documents employee production and workload performance. Provides direction and assists Lighting Account Representatives in the negotiation of contracts, order issuance and quotes and lighting charges. (20%) Assists leadership in developing and preparing for short and long-term lighting forecast plans and goals. Coordinates and assists leadership in responding to escalated customer inquiries regarding the sale or lease of street, private area or specialty outdoor lighting systems and maintenance services. (10%) Provides project management for specialty lighting projects. Suggests and investigates new lighting technology and design concepts. Assists in the pre-engineering and preparation of large complicated lighting jobs (20%) May serve as a liaison to coordinate efforts and resolve lighting issues internally and with contractors, community associations, and regulatory agencies, such as PSC and OSHA. Participates in local, regional and/or national industry groups. (10%) JOB SCOPE Reports to the Supervisor ODL. Works under limited supervision. Performs work of high complexity that conforms to regulatory and work standards. Works closely with and sometimes leads teams, within and outside the Company, to quickly resolve issues. Provides oversight and technical guidance for work performed by Lighting Account Representatives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree with 4-7 years of experience, or in lieu of a degree, 6-9 years of diverse business experience, either internally or externally. Emphasis should be in electric distribution design or construction activities. Working knowledge and experience in dealing with issues related to equipment, policies, codes, tariffs, standards and applicable Federal, State, local and BGE environmental, construction and safety standards and work practices in electric delivery related to outdoor lighting. Knowledge of product pricing; demonstrated knowledge of BGE's distribution system, electrical concepts and standards, and the outdoor lighting program. Working knowledge of Maximo, Atlas, CC&B, and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to understand pre-engineering and design principles related to electric distribution and outdoor lighting. Ability to communicate effectively, manage relationships and train personnel. Ability to lead teams and manage projects, including effectively plan, manage, and coordinate multiple work assignments. Ability to use associated software for job specific computer applications. Ability to perform mathematical calculations involving basic algebra, geometry and trigonometry. Ability to meet Company driving standards, including a valid driver's license Availability to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering or equivalent. Working knowledge of Asset Suite 8, Atlas, CC&B, GIS, and Microsoft Office Suite Lighting experience Strong interpersonal and customer service skills Ability to lead and manage projects
