Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Prioritizes the daily workflow by coordinating and delegating daily technical operations.
Manages or works directly on projects of moderate to complex scope.
Selects, schedules, and assigns staff, adjusting hours and shifts as necessary.
Evaluates activities of assigned area(s) to ensure patient care, staff relations, and efficiency of service.
Ensures compliance with QA/QC standards required by laboratory regulatory agencies.
Makes recommendations regarding the development of policies, goals and objectives.
Implements unit or clinic policies, goals, and objectives.
Monitors department financial performance.
May function in the Laboratory Director capacity during the absence of the Laboratory Director.
Acts as laboratory liaison to other departments.
Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience and education
EXPERIENCE
Five years' technical experience in a laboratory setting including two years' concurrent supervisory experience. .
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
Rare climbing.
