Bishop Mora Salesian High School, an all-boys Archdiocesan Catholic high school of 400 students, is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual for the role of Vice Principal for the 2024-25 school year. The Vice Principal is a twelve-month, exempt position reporting directly to the Principal. The Vice Principal will serve as the Dean of Faculty and assume responsibility for all areas of school operations in the Principal’s absence. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with a strong commitment to academic excellence and student success. The position requires significant extended hours, nights, and weekend work and attendance or travel for school activities.
The start date for the Vice Principal is July 1, 2024.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Mentor, supervise, and evaluate all faculty members and oversee the hiring process for new teachers.
Serve as a Administration team liaison for some administrative departments
Serve as the Director/Principal of summer school
Serve as a member (or chair in principal’s absence) of the school’s administrative council
In collaboration with the Principal and Assistant Principal of Curriculum, implement policies and procedures related to the academic program of the school, including grading, exams, and report cards
Assist with student recognition events such as academic awards assemblies
Chair various committees including Curriculum, Admissions, and Discipline Boards.
Serve as chairperson for accreditation visitation and coordinate recommendation implementation
Organize Back-to-School events and Parent-Teacher conferences.
Facilitate communication between parents and faculty, as needed
Assist the principal in the development of the master schedule.
Collect data for applicable Federal and State programs.
Perform other duties assigned by the Principal.
Qualifications:
Advanced degree in Education or related field.
Minimum five years of teaching experience AND three years of proven experience in faculty mentorship.
Excellent teaching, classroom management, communication, and organization skills.
Knowledge of curriculum development and assessment practices.
Conversational Spanish (preferred)

Salary/Benefits: Salary commensurate with education and experience. The Archdiocese of Los Angeles offers health benefits including medical, dental, and vision and all employees are enrolled in pension benefits from the time of employment and considered vested after five years of full-time employment.
