THE POSITION
Central San, a progressive public utility, is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a vacant Maintenance Supervisor position. This position will be responsible for organizing and overseeing the day-to-day work of staff in Buildings and Grounds. Duties of the position will include:
Plans, prioritizes, assigns, supervises, and participates in the development and implementation of preventative and predictive maintenance of District buildings and grounds.
Oversees crews in a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled work, including tank cleaning, landscaping and ground maintenance, janitorial work, and routine maintenance functions.
Inspects work in progress and upon completion to assure that repairs, maintenance, and project activities are in accordance with District regulations, policies, and operating procedures and practices.
Receives work orders and other requests for maintenance services from various District departments and staff; prioritizes requests and orders needed materials for completing maintenance and repair functions; schedules shop maintenance workers and work crews according to maintenance and repair needs.
Prepares reports on maintenance operations and activities; completes and maintains records including preventive and corrective maintenance forms, inspection forms, daily work sheets, and service sheets; may enter maintenance records into computer database.
Executes and manages contracts related to facilities maintenance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade. Experience: Five (5) years of full-time experience, including at least two (2) years of lead responsibility, in area of assignment including maintaining and repairing one of the following: building and grounds, wastewater collection systems, vehicles, and mechanical equipment. Licenses and Certifications: Possession of a valid California Driver’s License. A valid out of state driver's license will be accepted during the application process. Must possess a valid California Driver's License within 90 days of appointment.
SELECTION PROCEDURE

The most qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the examination process. Human Resources shall determine the examination steps to be used for this recruitment. The steps may include, but are not limited to, a written examination, practical examination, application screening, and/or oral board examination. One or more of these steps may be used and in any order. At the end of the testing process, candidates passing all of the examination steps will have their names placed on an eligibility list. The list is valid for six months and may be extended up to an additional six months at the request of the hiring department. The list established by this recruitment may be used to fill future vacancies in this classification.
Applicants meeting the minimum qualifications are not guaranteed advancement to the examination process. All applicants will be notified of the results of the review process.
Successful candidates not currently employed in regular status by the District must pass a pre-employment physical to be considered for appointment.
