La Salle University seeks a strategic and innovative leader with excellent managerial, administrative, interpersonal, and communication skills to lead the Center for Career and Professional Development. The next director will create a strategic vision for the Center that places the professional development needs of La Salle students and recent graduates as the primary purpose of the Center and its various programs.

Position Summary
Reporting to the Associate Provost, the Director will play a leading role in creating innovative strategies for utilizing the Center’s professional staff in meeting the career and professional needs of our students. The Director’s responsibilities include strategic planning, budgeting, fundraising, program development, alumni career advising, and deep engagement with prospective student employers and industry partners.
Essential Duties
Set a professional tone for the Center, its staff, and all associated student and employer engaged programming.
Develop a strategic plan for student career development that highlights the unique features of a La Salle education.
Lead a dynamic and energetic team of professionals in meeting the career needs of our students and recent graduates.
Establish and grow connections with external employment partners to ensure our students have ample opportunities to engage in meaningful careers after they graduate.
Establish and grow connections with external employment partners to ensure students have ample internship opportunities as they continue to develop necessary career skills and employment experience.
Develop innovative programs that help our students leverage their academic skills and intellectual capabilities to maximize post-graduate career opportunities.
Host external partners at a range of campus events to maximize student internship and employment opportunities.

Required Qualifications
A Master’s degree in an appropriate field of study such as Counseling, Psychology, Human Resources, Higher Education, Business, or related discipline.
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a college/university career services office or similar management-related experience in the career development or employment field.
Comprehensive understanding of career development/counseling theories, best practices, and trends in the field. Strong knowledge with labor markets, employer expectations, and emerging job sectors.
Demonstrated experience providing visionary leadership and strategic direction for career development and readiness programs and services.
Experience in building and leading a diverse team of professionals, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
Proven ability to develop and maintain partnerships with employers, alumni, faculty, and other stakeholders to enhance career opportunities for students.
Evidence of a commitment to student success and professional development, with a focus on empowering students to make informed career decisions and achieve their professional goals.
