What will you be doing:
The Mental Health Associate provides mental health prevention, intervention and crisis intervention services within school settings and the community at large following a period of observation and training. Incumbents develop partnerships and deliver a full range of services consisting of assessment, group therapy, individual and family therapy when appropriate. Participates in team meetings and planning. They demonstrate motivation, creativity and serves as a motivator for effect change. They maintain proficiency/skills including the ability to deliver care to special populations with diverse cultural backgrounds. They can identify safety concerns and institute measures to deliver safe environment.
- Conducts assessments of students, as a part of the triage process and for students admitted into the program.
- Participates in the treatment planning process by attending treatment team meetings.
- Demonstrates sound conceptualization of problems, strengths, goals and objectives; evidences follow through on implementation of approved plans, monitors students progress.
- Conducts individual, family and group interventions.
- Collaborates with internal and external sources in providing clinical treatment.
- Coordinates care for patient and care delivery team as needed
Experience Requirements:
- One (1)+ years of clinical experience with children and adults.
- Good communication and social skills.
- Basic understand of Windows (Excel, Word, PP, Outlook) or comparable systems.
Educational/Licensure/Certifications Requirements:
Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage Family Therapy, or related field.
Board Behavioral Science Associate Designation. (in process or completed)
