Boeing Global Enterprise Sustainability (GES) is looking for an Experienced Environmental Due Diligence Project Management Specialist to join our team in Seal Beach, CA.
The Project Management Specialist will perform due diligence reviews to identify and quantify Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) risks and sustainability requirements or opportunities and work with Global Real Estate and Facilities on real property transactions. This position may also work with our corporate development organization on corporate mergers and acquisitions.
Position Responsibilities:
- Primarily conducts multiple, concurrent Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) due diligence reviews to identify and quantify EHS risks and sustainability requirements and opportunities associated with Corporate mergers and acquisitions and real property transactions.
- Supports transactional decision making by preparing briefing reports for each transaction, communicating findings, and providing and advocating for risk management and other recommendations.
- Conducts and directs supplier activities for Phase I and Phase II environmental due diligence assessments of commercial and industrial sites, with special focus on identifying environmental conditions and their associated risks, developing risk mitigation recommendations, preparing focused presentations outlining the findings, and presenting risk management recommendations in multi-functional report outs to team leaders and senior leadership.
- Additionally, may perform remediation-related tasks including development and management of investigation and remediation budgets.
- May manage multiple, concurrent environmental investigations of surface and subsurface media (soil, surface water and groundwater). Develops work plans, schedules, and cost forecasts, conducts project planning, tracks financial performance, directs and supervises contractors, and meets performance goals.
- Provides financial and project status reviews to management and team leaders.
- Works effectively with other Boeing functions including planning and real estate, finance, legal, supplier management, communications and facilities.
- Works successfully leading diverse teams of technical and academic experts.
- Makes decisions on complex regulatory/technical matters, and coordinates with other responsible parties and their contractors.
- Successfully applies knowledge of project management and/or engineering processes and practices to cost and schedule accuracy, remediation technology applications, and risk management to ensure that the technical integrity and business goals are achieved.
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Technical Bachelor's degree or higher (A technical degree is defined as any four-year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study).
- 3+ years of experience managing, overseeing, and directing suppliers on multiple concurrent EHS due diligence or remediation projects.
- 3+ years of experience identifying, evaluating, mitigating, and communicating environment health and safety risks associated with real property or business transactions.
- 3+ years of experience communicating, collaborating, and building consensus with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in all Microsoft Office suite applications.
- Willing and able to travel up to 10% domestically.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience in conducting and directing supplier activities for Phase I and Phase II environmental assessments and other scopes of work of commercial and industrial sites.
- Experience with All Appropriate Inquiries (AAI) and ASTM 1527 and 1528.
- Experience managing multiple, concurrent environmental investigations of surface and subsurface media (soil, surface water and groundwater).
- Experience with state and federal regulatory requirements and policy on remediation such as Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) regulatory requirements (desired).
- Strong leadership skills including working successfully with regulatory agency staff, leading diverse teams of technical and academic experts, consensus building and decision making on complex regulatory/technical matters, and coordination with other responsible parties and their contractors.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with other internal and external organizations.
- Basic knowledge of Corporate Sustainability best practices.
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience, 9 years' related work experience, etc.).

Summary pay range: $83,000 - $148,000
