The Production Manager plays a key role in managing, planning, pre-production, costing and seasonal deadlines for the department. Build and manage seasonal Time-In-Actions with suppliers to meet seasonal deadlines for development and procurement. Review seasonal RM and trim selections with Design and Merchandising. Ensure testing protocols are established and adhered. Advise Merchandising/ Sales on delivery/margin challenges as they arise. Track, receive and confirm sales bookings at various stages. Handle final cost negotiation with factory as soon as orders have been passed. Collect forms and buy confirmations from factories. Manage purchase order setup, including size breakdowns. Oversee hand-off's with Product Development and suppliers. Receive all signed standards and pass to factory in a timely manner. Build department's work-in-process report from pre-production through production. Collect and manage weekly WIP reports from factory. Drive weekly cross functional meetings covering pre-production and production deliverables. Provide a detailed review of weekly WIP reports with all members of factory management. Troubleshoot with key personnel on problematic styles before they become larger issues. Actively review Sales bookings against cancel dates and production in distribution center dates. Alert Merchandising and Customer Service of problems and resolutions as they arise. Ensure system dates are met or appropriate changes are made. Collect seasonal testing from testing laboratory prior to factory shipments. Track top of production samples, ensure that they are received in a timely manner and meet expectations. Monitor factory ship dates and PO close dates. Receive packing slips, update WIP report, and track open balances. Ad-hoc projects as assigned Qualifications / Experience. Must have a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in product development or production experience in designer wovens or outwear. Must have extensive experience with fabrics. Must have experience with overseas factories and manufacturing. Must have experience working with factories directly. Must have the ability to drive change through leadership skills across multiple departments. Must be a proactive self-starter with the ability to work independently. Must have strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize workload in order to meet all objectives. Must have proven interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a cross-functional team, and be able to influence and interact at all levels of the organization. Must have demonstrated success in both written and verbal communication. Must have excellent communication, analytical, decision-making, trouble-shooting, negotiation and interpersonal skills. Must be proficient in MS Office Applications Compensation.
