About this role:
iRhythm has an opening for a talented and experienced Senior Electronics Manufacturing Engineer who will work on sustaining projects and initiatives. Sr. EE’s at iRhythm, will work cross functionally with Manufacturing, Product Development and Quality Assurance teams in testing strategies, manufacturing flow, and failure analysis. Sr. EE’s participate in day-to-day manufacturing activities including supporting the analysis of failed products on the manufacturing line and investigations and corrective actions related to test fixture failures as well as test fixture support. In this role you will apply electrical and/or electronic principles to both analog and digital systems to construct prototype and/or production assemblies. Additionally, you will assist with qualification, preventive and corrective maintenance of manufacturing equipment, test fixtures, and new test equipment in our manufacturing site located in Orange County, CA. Responsibilities include:
Partner with Engineering team and support manufacturing PCBA testing stations for all iRhythm products; execute solutions to routine technical problems defined by Engineering team
Provide technical expertise to Product Development for new product design
Provide technical expertise to Quality Assurance
Perform basic IQC functions (visual inspection) and maintain inventory of spare parts for test fixtures
Run management software tools to track and trend production data
Design and manage the build of electro-mechanical functional test equipment, preferably have a comfort level with qualification process (FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ, TMV, PQ) firmware development based on industry standard test procedures.
Support maintenance and improvements of functional test equipment
Perform failure analysis of electronic circuits and components on test equipment and devices
Write test/validation protocols and test reports, including detailed technical analysis and recommendations
About you:
We are looking for an engineer with a diversity of experiences, technical skills and interests to match the needs of a fast-moving company. This individual should be creative, hands-on and interested in the challenges surrounding medical device manufacturing.
Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering
Minimum 5+ years’ progressive experience in functional test equipment and PCBA failure analysis on a high-volume manufacturing environment; Medical Device, Automotive, Aerospace, Aviation (Medical Device preferred)
2+ years of Experience performing FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ, PQ, TMV, digital and analog electronics
Extensive experience with data collection for GR&R and statistical analysis.
2+ years of Experience with test fixtures that include wire routing, Pogo pins placement, Grounding layout, Mechanical layout
Solid experience with rack and stack instrumentation, Input stimulus (V and I), measurement schema (Strobe, delays, ranges, offsets), User interfaces and DB's (Interfacing and debugging connections)
Basic hardware protocol experience like IEE488, USB, Serial (BLE experience a plus).
Good manual dexterity and the ability to operate electromechanical measurement/test equipment and prototype tool/fixtures
C# programming experience or similar high-level language
Comfortable reading circuit board schematics, Familiarity with Bluetooth/BLE, LTE standards and RF test a plus. Familiarity with Altium or equivalent ECAD is a plus.
Hands on experience using test equipment (frequency generator, oscilloscope, frequency counter, signal analyzer, spectrum analyzer, DMM, power supply, data acquisition unit, etc.) on daily basis work
Good oral and written communication skills, self-motivated and disciplined to meet deadlines in the context of competing priorities and projects
Ability to read and properly interpret engineering drawings, specifications, schematics and wiring diagrams
Availability to work second/swing shifts and weekends in order to complete corrective and preventive maintenance over functional test fixtures and provide remote support after business hours.
