As a member of the Medical Sciences Development team, you will manage a variety of fund-raising programs for educational and research purposes for the Jules Stein Eye Institute and the Department of Ophthalmology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. The programs and projects include, but are not limited to: endowments, capital needs, Chairs, centers, institutes. Take a key role in major gift fund raising, proposal writing, and working with faculty, administrators, and volunteers. Additional responsibilities include identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of existing and prospective donors and corporate/foundation partnership strategies. Work with the Chair of Ophthalmology on the design and implementation of gift strategies and integrate campaign with medical school mission and strategic plan, and oversee the development and management of volunteer boards, and other related activities and projects.
This role also manages development and operations of JSEI websites, supports the department’s communications initiatives, and provides administrative support to the JSEI Director. You will participate in the development of marketing and communications materials including the JSEI annual report, management of assigned marketing and communications projects. This role requires supervision of Development Office staff members.
Salary range: $76900.00-$150900.00 Annual

Ability to work evenings and weekends to fulfill special event-relatedresponsibilities.
Skills in writing in order to produce professional, clear andcompelling proposals and other solicitation materials, acknowledgments,reports, public announcements, and routine business correspondence; and abilityto evaluate and edit any of these documents for content, style, and format.
Skills in speaking effectively and persuasively to individuals andgroups.
Ability to supervise, direct and motivate support staff to fulfillgoals and objectives.
Ability to plan, direct, and monitor budgetary matters, includingbudget preparation, and administration of expenditures.
